Despite over 800 million people suffering from severe malnutrition, one-third of all food intended for human consumption is wasted or lost globally. Contrary to popular belief, food waste is not limited to wealthier countries but is also prevalent in developing nations. This visualization displays the top 40 countries in 2019 ranked by the amount of household food waste, grouped by regions. Additionally, the visualization provides information on household waste per capita and GDP for each country.
